Longevity Hotspots

Storyline

Across our planet there are five populations that are especially long lived, happy and healthy, with more people living over 100. The five longevity hotspots, and/or Blue Zones are Loma Linda, California, Okinawa, Japan, Icaria, Greece, Sardinia, Italy, and Nicoya, Costa Rica. For this project I chose the Longevity Hotspots and to further compare Okinawa, Japan and Loma Linda, California.

Longevity Hotspots

This infographic focuses on Loma Linda, California and Okinawa, Japan. Seventh Day Adventists are the highest concentration in or near Loma Linda where they live 10 years longer than their North American counterparts. In Okinawa, Japan females over the age of 70 are the longest-lived population worldwide.

Animated Infographic

Inspired by the Infographic above, I also created a simple motion design to raise curiously on the Longevity Hotspots and the infamous Power 9. With the ending question of: Will we make it to the age of 100? Yes. No. Maybe so.
